Cisco CCENT® Certification

Our Network Engineering curriculum includes a complete certification package for the Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT®), the premier entry-level networking certification.

Possessing a CCENT demonstrates a solid knowledge of networking fundamentals, and the ability to build and operate a small-sized business LAN network.

After completing our Cisco CCENT certification package, you are all set to earn your CCENT certification. All you need to do is pass the actual CCENT certification exam.

CCENT Exam Overview

In order to achieve your CCENT certification, you need only pass a single certification exam: Cisco Exam 640-822, also known as ICND1 (Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1). The exam is 90 minutes long and consists of 50-60 total questions.

The CCENT Exam is administered by a company called "Pearson VUE", which operates testing centers all over the world. To schedule an exam, students should visit the Pearson VUE website at www.vue.com/cisco

The total cost to take the CCENT 640-822 certification exam is USD $125 or equivalent. The exam can be retaken as many times as needed, as long as there is a 5 day window between each time sitting the exam.

Taking the CCENT Exam

When scheduling the CCENT Exam, you will be instructed to select a testing center, as well as the time and date on which to sit the exam.

The exam is administered via computer. When you sign in at the testing center on the day of the exam, you will be logged onto a computer there and can proceed to work through it. Complete instructions are provided at the time you take the exam.

Please note that our Network Engineering courses provide extensive exam-taking tips, strategies, and practice questions... so you'll know exactly what to expect going in.

The exam results are provided immediately upon completion of the exam, so you'll know right away if you successfully earned your certification.

After Passing the Exam

As soon as you pass the CCENT Exam 640-822 you achieve the official status of Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician. You can then list the CCENT® credential on you resume, and potential employers can go to Cisco's website to verify it. You also gain access to a special "members only" section of Cisco's website, and are free to use the CCENT logo.

Within 6-8 weeks after passing the CCENT exam, you will receive a printed certificate and ID card recognizing your achievement.
