Part of being a network engineer is getting disparate devices to "play nice" together. The course spends time examining how Linux fits into a heterogeneous network environment, and even includes some hands-on work on other devices.
In the screenshot, the student is doing work on a Cisco firewall, trying to set up an IPSec-based VPN tunnel to a Linux server.
