There are hyperlinks throughout the text that open up popup windows with supplementary graphics and information, as well as outside Internet resources. Hyperlinks are also used to define acronyms. Acronyms are used extensively in the technology world, which can be overwhelming. In our courses, you can always click for a quick definition of any of these acronyms you come across.
In the screenshot, the student is looking up the meaning of the acronym "WDM", which stands for "wave division multiplexing", an optical network technology.
